Labour Market Study

Seeking interview participants for a study on useful labour market information for people who are unemployed, under-employed or changing careers 

The Social Planning Council of Ottawa is looking for community members willing to participate in a study about labour market information available on the internet (such as job search information).  The study is being led by Professor Warren Thorngate, Psychology Department, Carleton University.  We are looking for 60 participants from each of the following groups:
a) Immigrants who have arrived since 2005, aged between 30 – 60 who are under-employed or unemployed (Note as of May 19 - This group is full);
b) People with a physical or psychological disability, aged 18 – 50 who are underemployed or unemployed; or
c) Mature workers, aged 40 – 65, who are unemployed or who are dissatisfied with their current job and are seriously considering a career change which would require retraining (Note as of May 19 - This group is full). 

Each participant will need to attend 2 sessions of about one hour each.  An honorarium of $65.00 will be given to each participant per session.
