The Ottawa Food Security Council is pleased to announce our premiere food security networking and showcase event to be held in the foyer of City Hall on Thursday October 16, 2003 from 9 am to 4 pm.

This mini "trade show" will offer a forum for community groups involved in food issues in Ottawa to share ideas and materials amongst themselves and with the public.

A broad range of groups will be showcasing their work: buy local campaigns, community kitchens, community gardens, food banks and other emergency food and feeding programs, the good food box, nutrition, healthy diet and lifestyle programs, food safety and food inspection officials, supporters of traditional local farmers and small scale food processors, organic producers and retailers, international development and food organizations.

Participants come from the voluntary sector, government and the private sector.

A list of participants, with contact information, is available on our web site and arrangements may be made for interviews with individuals and/or groups either directly or via our office. (See below.)
