Become an SPC Volunteer
We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to get involved with our organization as volunteers. We have several types of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will:
- Receive our electronic newsletter to keep you up to date on our activities
- Be informed about and invited to participate in volunteer opportunities at the SPC
Current Volunteer Needs
a) Planning and implementation of the October 20 meeting on inclusion in schools and school fees. Volunteers working on the planning for this event will meet at 790 Bronson on Wed., September 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Contact dianneu@spcottawa.on.ca or 613-236-9300 ext. 303.
b) Design and layout of some communications materials. Contact heleneb@spcottawa.on.ca or 613-236-9300 ext. 300.
c) Volunteers to help groups improve their skills to do community based research.
d) Planning and implementation of the Marion Dewar Defender of the Public Good Award Dinner . Contact heleneb@spcottawa.on.ca or 613-236-9300 ext. 300
e) Volunteers for a new community economic development project for women. In particular, we need helpers for community kitchen activities. Contact dianneu@spcottawa.on.ca or 613-236-9300 ext. 303.
f) Geographic Information System Volunteers. If you have experience with GIS, and are interested in helping with our new project, the Community Information and Mapping System, please Contact dianneu@spcottawa.on.ca or 613-236-9300 ext. 303.
g) Volunteer Researchers. If you have experience in doing social research, and are interested in helping with some of the SPC's research, please send a message to Clara Jimeno at claraj@spcottawa.on.ca.
